How to Prevent Miscarriage Risk

Dec 8, 2022

Most early miscarriages are caused by genetic abnormalities, beyond the control of the lady or couple. BUT there are some risk factors that can trigger a miscarriage which are in your control: uncontrolled diabetes, both hyper & hypo thyroidism, hormone imbalances, some cases of uterine fibroids, chronic illness of liver or kidneys, smoking & having alcohol when pregnant. To avoid risk of miscarriage, here’s what you can do:

1.Eat healthy. Not just home cooked food but be careful that you are eating enough protein and healthy fats for your lifestyle & health history.

2.Check if you need folates, B6 or B12 supplements, all At the right dosage. B vitamins are absolutely essential for cell division in growth of the embryo.

3.Manage your stress. Chronic stress may not allow a woman to create a new life inside her. I’ve created videos earlier on why this happens.

4.Keep your weight within limits. Excess weight especially fat around the abdomen can lead to insulin resistance, & lower SHBG a protein that is needed to regulate your reproductive hormones. Being overweight also means egg quality is affected.

5.Progesterone prepares the uterus to receive and support the newly fertilized egg . Some women who miscarry may not make enough progesterone in the early part of pregnancy. Check with your fertility expert and make sure that if you are running low, you get adequate supplementation of the right kind and dosage of progesterone.
