Ginger

One of the key features of acid reflux is inflammation in the esophagus. The anti-inflammatory properties of ginger reduce inflammation of the food pipe. Ginger also helps in movement of food through bowels, thereby preventing the formation of gas.

Bananas

Poor digestive health is one of the reasons of low stomach acid production. Bananas are known to be very good for the digestive system, and thus they are an excellent food for managing acid reflux. Also, this fruit secretes a lot of mucus, which protects the intestinal walls from gastric acid.

Oatmeal

This low fat and high fiber food helps in digestion of food. Also, oatmeal is rich in selenium, an antioxidant which coats the food pipe and protects it from the gastric acid.

Green and Leafy Vegetables

Green and leafy vegetables such as lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, cucumbers, kale and green beans are easy to digest. This makes them a good choice for those affected by acid reflux.

Yogurt

Yogurt helps in maintaining the pH level in the system because of its alkaline nature. This probiotic-rich foods facilitates the growth of good bacteria, which inhibits the occurrence of acid reflux.
